Settlers living in the Southern Appalachian Mountains of 1827 are beginning to see changes they aren’t comfortable with. Men of questionable repute have often been seen wandering the mountain trails, paying no mind to the needs of the local folks they take from.Jeb Collins, a twelve-year-boy of Irish decent, is growing to manhood in these mountains. He and his blood-brother Wolf, a full blood Cherokee boy who is Jeb’s closest friend, care deeply about what is happening to their home. With the coming of U.S. soldiers to the mountains, they know death will follow. The boys come to realize their time of mountain peace may be ending. They fear a war is brewing. A war they need to prepare for. A war they sense will not end well for the native Cherokee. This fear makes them decide to fight the madness that is threatening their way of life before it grows unstoppable. The dangers of their decision will force the boys to risk their lives doing what they feel is right. If death is the Will of the Great Creator, then all will be well with them.
